About this Event
The Mexican Society of Edmonton invites you and your family to come and celebrate with us a traditional Mexican Posada. A posada is a Christmas party that is celebrated in Mexico from December 14 to December 24. In other countries, the 12 Days of Christmas are recognized, but in Mexico, the nine days of posadas leading up to Christmas Eve − Noche Buena (Holy Night) − are observed.
On November 14 we would like you to come and celebrate the posada with us and learn more about our traditions. We will have live entertainment, piñata making, Posada songs, traditional Posada food, and Vendors!
Since it is time to give, the Mexican Society of Edmonton is collaborating with PEIF Fund and Santa’s Anonymous. PEIF Fund is a nonprofit social initiative that offers support for vulnerable children, including orphans, kids living in poverty and conflict, and girls locally and internationally. On the other hand, Santa’s Anonymous is a charity founded in 1955 and its mission is to see every child receive a new toy at Christmas. We need your help to support these two organizations! Bring any non-perishable food, and/or, any toys in good shape which you would like to donate to those families who need it the most, and to help their children have a Merry Christmas!
